Avengers: Infinity War Spoiler Free Review

For those of you who have already seen the shocking Avengers: Infinity War movie, I know what you’re thinking. How in the possible f–k could I give a spoiler-free review on a movie so massive and full of game-changing events? Well, that’s a very good question. And one I certainly will endeavor to answer. For those of you who have not seen the massive team-up event, do not worry, for not a single spoiler I shall breathe. But for those of who have seen the film, I probably will be posting a spoiler review within the next week or so. Now that we’ve flung the formalities to the side, let’s jump right into why Infinity War was a downright amazing movie.

Yes, you read correctly. I thought Avengers: Infinity War was absolutely fantastic. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I saw it twice; in IMAX! Now for some of you, that seems like a breeze, a walk in the park, something that you do not once, not twice, but thrice! But, for me, personally, I do not like the theater. I prefer to watch films from the comfort of my own home where I can laugh as loud as I want, cry as hard as I please, and scream in protest tossing bottles at the screen when heartbreaking moments occur. The only scenario in which I typically attend the theater is when I wish to see a film so desperately that I simply cannot wait for it to stream or hit DVD or Bluray. And I’m happy to say that Avengers: Infinity War was one of those films that I was utterly and compulsively desperate to see. And why shouldn’t I be? It’s the ten-year culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it features way over thirty huge characters! However, despite this load of awesomeness, there were three main things that I enjoyed most about the film.

1. The Balance Of Characters
It’s safe to say that crossover events can easily go wrong. We’ve all seen it happen, and many times, this is due to the fact that there’s simply too much going on and instead of an awe-inspiring team-up, it feels like one giant mess. However, directors Joe and Anthony Russo were able to juggle over thirty top-notch, well-developed characters and what’s more, were able to tell a compelling story that didn’t feel chaotic or messy. With characters like Thor and the Guardians Of The Galaxy meeting up, I was nervous before seeing the film that the story might be stretched too tight with so many things going on. However, by the end of the film, all the characters tied together quite nicely for the final climactic moments. The humor didn’t seem forced or overdone and never once did the story lag because of any of the character’s development. All in all, I found the character’s interaction to be both funny and heartwarming.

2. Staying True To The Comics
I’ll admit it. I’m not a big comic book reader. Or at least I wasn’t until the past couple of months. Recently, I began reading Spawn comic books and it’s safe to say that I’m in love. But in luck, I was able to get my hands on a digital version of Infinity Gauntlet which for those of you who don’t know, is one of Avengers: Infinity War’s greatest inspirations. After completing all six issues of the series, I was blown away by the artful imagery and dialogue and was even more interested in seeing the film. My first time around watching the film (in fabulous IMAX, if I may say again), I was simply blown away at how comic book accurate the film was. Some scenes were literal takeaways from the comics. Not only this, but the film just felt like reading one big comic book. It almost felt as if the directors and writers had simply taken the source material and plastered to a screen for our enjoyment. I was amazed and happy to see that the original creators’ work inspired something so mesmerizing.

3. Actual Stakes
Alright, let’s be honest. Previous Marvel films have been, well… let’s just say slightly anti-climatic. While I still love the previous movies a whole heck of a lot, I knew each time that the heroes would win and the bad guy would lose. It was inevitable. I simply came to expect it and let’s face it, this did make the Marvel Cinematic Universe just the least bit predictable. However, Infinity War completely changed the game by raising the stakes dizzyingly high and setting the heroes against a villain that was truly terrifying. Now I won’t say anything more just so you can enjoy the film for yourself, but I swear to you, the ending of the film was so shocking that the theater remained silent for the entire last half hour of the film. And to me, this finally showed that Marvel Studios was willing to do what it takes in order to bring their cinematic universe to a whole new level.

And that just about wraps that up. For those of you who have not seen the film, I have one thing to say… go see that f—-g movie! And for those of you who have… go see that f—-g movie again! And that’s it. As usual, if there’s something you’d like me to write about or a film or a show you’d like me to review, feel free to let me know in the comments below.
