Labyrinth Light

We grew up in the middle of the night
In situations that were full of fright
We grew up without the light
Children of darkness, they called us
With an uncertain plight
In this pain, we found our might
And came to believe that happiness wasn’t our right
With this view, we had scattered sight
Youngsters with blindness, they said
That knew not how to fight
We rose up to lead
Under horrible circumstances
And in us was planted seed
That dismantled advances
We thought we may
And we thought we might
But the truth is that we’re lost
In the labyrinth light
